Description Lew Payne 2012-07-16 21:54:04 CEST
The following should read "anycast" rather than "multicast." I don't know of anyone multicasting DNS services, since they are limited to a range of IP's in which the routers support multicast. What someone meant was anycast dns (per RFC3258). It's easy to get the two confused.

By the way... I love NSD... I've been using it for more than eight years, now - in a commercial public-facing environment. That you for your work on it!

-i identity
Return the specified identity when asked for CH TXT ID.SERVER
(This option is used to determine which server is answering the
queries when they are multicast). The default is the name
  returned by gethostname(3).

Hi Lew,

Changed the description to anycast.

Thanks for the report!
